SENA JAL

Sena Jal – AWWA Water Bottling Plant, is an AWWA initiative and is the first Ozonised Packaged Drinking Water Plant of the Indian Army in Delhi Cantt. It was the concept and vision of previous COAS Gen Bipin Rawat, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, YSM, SM, VSM, ADC to establish Indian Army own water bottling plant to facilitate all personnel of Indian Army. ASC was given the responsibility for establishment the plant and with tireless efforts with dedication, the plant was established within three months which included creating warehouse space, machinery and running infrastructure. It was inaugurated on 11 Oct 2017 by President AWWA Mrs Madhulika Rawat, accompanied by all Zonal AWWA Presidents.

Indian Army has a huge consumption of packaged drinking water in various events in units and institutions. Plant was started with production of 500 ml bottles initially. However, considering the large demand from environment, 250 ml bottles and 20 ltr bottles were introduced in the month of Feb 2018 and Oct 2018 respectively. The plant capacity has been upgraded and Pet Blowing Machine established to meet the increased demand and has also led to reduction in cost of bottles which is comparatively cheaper than market.

Sena Jal has been established an AWWA Venture with the sole aim of providing employment to families of martyrs and ex-servicemen and the profit generated is being used for welfare of veer naries and the families. The facility of Sale of Sena Jal has further been extended to Air Force and Navy also.

The success of the Sena Jal Plant has been a result of the tireless efforts and thorough planning by team ASC under guidance from AWWA Secretariat. Sena Jal venture has been running efficiently and has been showcasing efforts taken by Indian Army to take care of its soldiers and their families.
